Obituary of Timothy "Mark" Rooks
Timothy “Mark” Rooks was born on September 23, 1963 in Winder, GA to James (Jimmy) Rooks and Laura Belle Rooks. He passed away July 29, 2021 after battling heart and kidney disease for several years. He will be missed by his wife and soul mate Sharon (Stinchcomb) Rooks, married Feb 14th, over 23 years ago, his sister Jimmieann Turner, brother Mike Rooks, sons Matthew Rooks and his wife Amanda, and Benjamin Rooks. He is also survived by three grandsons and three granddaughters.
A memorial service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 Hickory Street, Melbourne, Florida 32901 at 1:00 p.m.
He graduated from Gwinnett Technical College with a degree in HVAC and Refrigeration and obtained certification as a Technician Type Universal in December 2000. With this degree and continued training worked at Disney World’s restaurants, and resorts, also worked at NASA with numerous projects. After many hours of studying and training, he received his private pilot’s license. He passed the written and flight test on his first attempt. He was very active in the community and in his church. He was a boy scout, he was an assistant scout master for Troop 512, he was on the Order of the Arrow committee, and also received this award,. He helped prepare high ropes courses, and had numerous hours hiking, and was a survival skills instructor. He had rescued several people stranded on mountains. He was an expert craftsman in wood working, building and creating furniture (Habersham antiques reproductions), While in high school, he won second place in woodworking in the nation., he built numerous dry sinks, cabinets and other furniture, and created and turned wooden bowls.
Mark was a prolific photographer and he researched the Rooks genealogy.
After getting his first computer he learned to build his own computers. He designed numerous historical planes for the game Flight Simulation (simaviation vintage aircraft), Several of his historical planes have been used by the History Channel, museums, and in numerous Disney movies.
Above all, he always helped people and worshiped the Lord every day. He and Sharon had hoped and prayed to travel to help churches and people with repairs and install handicapped ramps and other repairs.
Mark would want everyone to know that he was prepared to meet his Lord and Savior. Mark loved his family and friends, and he cherished time spent with them.
