Obituary of Allen E. Joyce

Allen Elesberry Joyce, 78, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on July 22nd, 2021. He was born to parents Guy Vance Bryan and Mary Flemming Moore, on August 21st, 1942 in Hot Springs, North Carolina.

Allen worked as a Program Manager for 36 years and retired from Harris Corporation in 2009.

He was a devout Christian, serving as Deacon at Bowe Gardens Baptist Church. He loved boating, tinkering with cars, RV trips, Tarheels basketball, and any activity with his great grandkids.

Allen met Nancy Miller Joyce in 1964. They were married on July, 15^th 1966 in Melbourne, Florida and raised 2 children: Jennifer Joyce and Jeffrey Joyce.

Allen is survived by Nancy Miller Joyce, wife; Jennifer Joyce, daughter; Jeffrey Joyce, son; Brittany Joyce Higgins, granddaughter; Michael Higgins, Grandson-n-law; Kaiden Michael Rutledge, great-grandson; Knox Michael Higgins, great-grandson; Bill Bryan, brother; Bill Moore, brother, Coy Moore Jr., brother; Anne Bryan Newman, sister; Sue Bryan Barnard, sister; Sonya Moore Plemmons, sister; Ann Moore Willet, sister; Kaye Moore Green, sister.

He was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Jack Joyce and adoptive mother, Louetta Joyce, brother, James Joyce and Sara Bryan Duncan, sister.

Family will greet friends on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Bowe Gardens Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Bowe Gardens Baptist Church with a reception to follow on church grounds. Pastor Bryan Crouch will officiate the ceremony.
