Obituary of James Waddington
James (Jim) Waddington passed away peacefully on June 5th in the care of the attentive staff at the Brevard Hospice. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, two children and two brothers Richard and Dennis Waddington.
He was born on June 21, 1944 in East Orange New Jersey. He married Kathleen Skutka and they moved to Florida in 1968. They had two children Jeanette and Kenneth Waddington. After several relocations around the state, they settled in Brevard County in 1975 and have lived there ever since.
James was a service technician for Diebold Inc. and worked primarily on banking equipment. He also worked for Florida Business Systems, and owned Kentech Business Services.
He was an avid hobbyist and taught himself photography and had his own darkroom. He created and flew radio-controlled airplanes and went scuba diving in the Florida Keys for which he designed a special underwater camera case to take spectacular underwater shots.
He taught himself woodcarving and decorated the house with his creations and gave many one-of-a kind gifts to friend and family. Other self-taught hobbies included oil painting of landscapes and wire wrapping.
He loved nature and spent many a weekend fishing and enjoying the beaches and rivers of the Sunshine State.
He was most known for his sense of humor and loved to laugh and make others laugh, and always had a tall tale or funny story to tell.
Rescue dogs were his constant companions and the family request that if you feel moved to do so, in lieu of flowers or plants, please make a donation to a local animal shelter.
