Obituary of Edna Ruth Harrell

Edna Ruth Hollis Harrell, 88, of Palm Bay, FL, peacefully passed away on June 2, 2021, after a difficult battle with Renal Kidney Disease.

Edna Ruth was born on July 31, 1932 to Jackson Davis Hollis and Edna Ruthledge Mitchell Hollis in the bustling city of Columbia, S.C.. She met Kenneth Franklin Harrell at a luncheonette behind the Capitol in Columbia where he worked and they married in 1950 at the family home. She was an avid reader, she always had a book by her side; some of her favorite authors were Richard Paul Evans and Nora Roberts. She followed the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, reading her bible daily and loved gospel music. Before falling ill, Edna Ruth volunteered at several hospitals in Rockledge and Viera, Florida.

Edna Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Jackson Davis Hollis and Edna Ruthledge Mitchell Hollis, Kenneth Franklin Harrell, her husband of 66 years and son-in-law, Patrick Roche.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Harrell Roche, daughter Suzette Harrell (Robert) Mitchell and son, Michael Andrew (Denise) Harrell; Grandchildren Sean (Nancy) Roche, Heather (Rachelle) Roche, Ryan (Sarah) Harrell, Melanie Mitchell (Adam) Judge and Robin Mitchell (Cristian) Angarita. Great Grandchildren, Gia Roche, Kylie Roche, Brayden Harrell, Jesse Roche, Mikaela Judge, Hailee Judge and Andrew Judge. Sisters, Jacquelyn Hollis (Bill) McInnis, Virginia Hollis (Lea) Wheeler and Eleanor Hollis (David, preceded) Teague.

Burial Services for Edna Ruth and Kenneth Harrell will be held at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on June 30th at 12:30 PM.
