Obituary of Dawn Martin
My name is Kandyce and I am Dawn Martin’s daughter. On May 22, 2021 at 4:56pm, Dawn had passed away. She was able to say her last words to most of her loved ones in the past month. Even though we didn’t know it was gonna be her final words to us, they will be treasured forever.
Dawn was married to Jack Martin, and as many of you know, they have a 13 year old son together. He is their pride and joy. Jack and Dawn had a very close relationship and were always there for each other, no matter the circumstances. As I had mentioned in the beginning, I’m Kandyce, Jack’s daughter, Dawn’s step-daughter, but she has been in my life since I was 9 years old. She was a mother figure to me but also a best friend when I needed one.
Dawn had three grandbabies, Giovonni, Josiah, and Elijah. They were the light of her life. Back in March when she first got diagnosed, she was in a sedated coma and when she came to her first words, other than "I want coffee’’ lol, was ‘’where are my grandbabies?" She loved them so very much .
She was the youngest of four siblings,Vanessa Marshall, Row Stanley, and Bob Stanley . Their mother’s name is Willie Pate and their father's name is Charlie Stanley.
She was very family oriented. Any friends she made became very close and ended up like family. She touched a lot of hearts. Family gatherings were always eventful.
Dawn had a best friend that she was lucky enough to call her boyfriend. His name is Lynn. They loved each other very much. They loved playing music together.
She enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and art. Oh! She also loved reading her Steven King books. Outdoors was a place she liked to be. Either going to the beach , playing frisbee golf, or riding bikes.
Her wish was to be cremated and spread out along the beach. So, Mom, we will be honoring your wish and taking you on the beach for the last time. We all love you very much. Please continue to look over and protect us. Remember this is not goodbye, but I’ll see you soon .
Sincerely,
Kandyce Martin
