Obituary of Donna Marie Vaught

Donna Marie Vaught, age 70 of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8th.

Donna was born in Newburgh, N.Y. on April7, 1951, to Anthony and Angie Colandrea. Donna was the oldest child, followed by Dominick and Dori.

Donna married the love of her life, Gary Vaught, on July 4th, 1975. They were married for 45 years at the time of her passing. Donna and Gary dedicated a large part of their lives to law enforcement and helping others. She worked, as a police dispatcher in Tuxedo, N.Y., and Palm Bay, FL. Donna’s greatest joy in life was her family. She gave birth to four children, Dawn, Christian, Gabriel, and Jeremiah. She epitomized the unconditional love that a mother gives her children and she extended that love to her six grandchildren, Brittany Babcock, Eliza Vaught, Zoe Vaught, Marley Vaught, Gideon Vaught, and Raven Vaught as well as her great-grandchild Sebastian Fransz. She always made time to be sure every one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild knew exactly what they mean to her. Her greatest gift was that she loved them all with no expectation that they fit into any type of mold. Donna’s love and support extended even farther to touch the lives of her children’s and grandchildren’s partners and friends.

Donna was one of the most strong-willed people you could meet. We take solace in knowing that even in her own death she did it her way and at her terms. She went to sleep knowing exactly how much she meant to her family and can now rest with her parents whom she loved and missed so deeply. Donna, Sister, Mom, Aunt, Cousin, Mema...you will forever be in our hearts.
