Dear Gail:
We have many fond memories of John and you from long, long ago in Albany and the Rafter Rockers. I hold John and You responsible for the wonderful 69 years of marriage to Kathy and my wonderful family. Time and circumstance put us on different paths many years ago, but we have never forgotten you and we are so saddened to hear of John's passing. Please accept our deepest but belated sympathy.
I would have never imagined that meeting and getting to know John on that deployment to Guam in 1962 would have led to such a wonderful life.
We would like to hear from you, to learn more about you and your family, and perhaps share of some of the adventures from our different paths.
Yours Truly
Dewey and Kathy Tillman

I remember John to be very patient and gracious with us during our dancing lessons. I only knew him briefly through the club, and I'm grateful for the time he gave of himself as an instructor. I hope that I can emulate him sometimes as a Teacher.

I didn't have the privilege of knowing John and Gail as long as many others, but I'm glad I got to know him for awhile. I really enjoyed having John as a Square Dance instructor in the Dancin' Diamonds. He was always patient, and took the time to explain things. He even through in a good bit of humor too. He will be missed by many even if they don't all post their memories.

We are very sorry to hear of John’s passing. Please accept our deepest condolences.
We have been VERY good friends with John & Gail for over 20 years. They have done so very much for us over the years. While we were traveling around the country in our RV they would collect our mail and let us know when anything important arrived. They also agreed to be our contact point for our ADT security.
During the 10 years we ran the CALLERLAB Home Office in Cocoa, FL they served as office manager, financial manager, and overall “cover everything.” They handled every challenge extremely effectively with professionalism, humor, and outstanding dedication. During the times Del & I were traveling in our RV they covered the office so that everyday business was conducted smoothly in a manner which was seamless to the outside world. Even when we traveled outside the country on CALLERLAB the office never missed a beat.
We have VERY fond memories of our trip to London with John & Gail. We especially remember fish & chips and Treacle Pudding at the Liberty Bonds Pub near the London Tower. Our memories include Stonehenge and other “touristy” place around London.
We value our friendship which has grown stronger over the years. We will miss John and his humor, especially Jerry.
We pray for them both every day
Jerry and Del Reed

God blessed me when I moved to Florida and John and Gail became my next door neighbors and dear friends. They taught me how to play Dominoes and looked out for me. I will always treasure the wonderful times I shared with them.

I have known John for over 40 years. He always loved to say things that were not expected. I wasn't sure how to take him at first. John was fun-loving, and a child at heart. I remember he loved Disney and he and Gail visited often.
John was faithful to family, deeply loved Gail, was supportive and cared for his father in his later years. He brought much joy to many who knew him as a square dance caller. He gave much of his life to that in calling dances and in leadership to the profession.
John will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
