Obituary of Patricia Lea Hammond

Patricia Lea (Pat) Hammond, RN of Melbourne, Florida passed away April 27, 2020. She was 92.

Pat was born April 22, 1928 in Portland, Maine and graduated from Brighton High School in Boston, Massachusetts in 1946.  She received her certification as a Registered Nurse in 1949 after graduation from Massachusetts Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

A lifelong caregiver, Pat was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a loyal and trusted friend, co-worker and mentor who touched many lives with her kindness, compassion, advice and counsel.  A gifted and excellent cook, Pat compiled and published a cookbook of “Friends & Family Recipes” in 1999. 

In addition to her love of cooking, Pat was passionate about animals, particularly horses, wolves and dogs, especially her beloved Doberman, Brandy.

Pat is survived by her son, daughter, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service for Pat will be held at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL at 2:00 PM on April 24, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations to her favorite charity, Guiding Eyes for the Blind will be gratefully appreciated.
