Obituary of Robert F. Gammon
Judge Robert F. Gammon, age 93, on March 20, 2021, peacefully passed on to his heavenly home. Three of his children were by his side.
After his birth on September 27, 1927, in Gary, Indiana, to Jesse W. Gammon and Juanita Frageman Gammon, the family moved to Indianapolis. After his enlistment in the Army, Robert graduated from Indiana University, continued on to law school, and then joined his father in a successful career as a lawyer, and finally as a judge in Lawrence Township, Indiana.
Judge Gammon loved to travel internationally, and especially to Hawaii. Upon retirement, he settled near family in Florida, living in the Villages and then in Palm Bay. He enjoyed engaging in politics, discovering new gadgets, and researching just about any and everything. He was also a diligent student of the Bible and claimed Ephesians 2:8,9 as his life verse: "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast."
He is survived by his four children: Robert C. Gammon, Lisa Lynn Cannon, John Paul Gammon, and Gayla Sue Searle; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
He was greatly loved and now is greatly missed.
But we do not grieve "as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so will God bring with Him those also who sleep in Jesus. . . . And so shall we ever be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words." (I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
