Obituary of Patricia Huck
Patricia McCormick Curtis Huck, 85 went to her Heavenly home March 20, 2021. She was born January 19, 1936 in Rowland, NC. She was influenced from an early age the importance of higher education and being self-sufficient by her father, Rufus Harrison Curtis. Their mother, Addie Grace McCormick exposed her and her sisters to the fine arts of music, dance, and voice.
Pat graduated valedictorian from Rowland High School in 1954. She received several medals and the Graham Scholarship Award. She was a member of the Glee and Beta Club and played guard position on the basketball team.
She graduated from Wake Forest in 1958 majoring in Chemistry and German. During her college years she remained top her in class and was in several honor societies.
After graduating from Wake Forest in 1958, she married Carl Lawrence Lennon. She had two children, David Curtis and Stephen Lawrence. She taught Chemistry for several years but wanted to do more. She attended the University of Florida and studied pharmacy. During her internship there, she was chosen to make up Dexedrine-scopolamine capsules for the astronauts to take on the Soyuz Apollo Mission.
She later married Louis Huck, Jr., August 7, 1981.
She worked as a pharmacist until she retired in 2006 but kept her license until she was 82 years old. She was actively involved in research and preventative care. She was our “doctor”, advisor and prayer warrior.
Pat had a strong faithful relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She shared her faith with her family, friends and people she met along the way.
She is survived by her sisters Brenda Hamilton (Allen) and Debbie Auld. Her two sons, David (Denice) and Steve (Tammy), grandchildren, Joseph, Julius, Diamon, Kate, Alec and Brian. Great grandson Zayden and nieces and nephews.
