Obituary of Gerald John Ancsanyi

Gerald John Ancsanyi, 72, of West Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021, surrounded by family. The world has lost a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was born to parents, Alexander Ancsanyi and Theresa Ancsanyi on September 5, 1948, in Astoria, New York.  Gerry graduated from Massapequa High School in 1967. He then completed an Apprenticeship and Tool & Die Training at Sewanhaka Trade School in 1971.

He was married to Donna Ancsanyi, the love of his life, in 1972, who survives him.  Gerry is also survived by daughters Christina Slate and Danielle Knowles, son in-laws Darrell Slate and Kyle Knowles, grandson Jacob Slate and granddaughters Madison Slate and Mackenzie Knowles. Gerry was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Theresa Ancsanyi, his sister Viola Palumbo and his brother Alan Ancsanyi.

Gerry was known for his love of bowling, boating, poker, cars, fishing, science fiction movies, ice cream and most importantly being with his family.  He was the glue that kept everyone together.

The Celebration of Life for Gerry will be on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care at 1001 Hickory Street, Melbourne, Florida 32901.
