Obituary of David Chester Brunes
On February 4, 2021 David Chester Brunes loving husband of Virginia Brunes for 60 years has passed away. He was the son of Ruth and Chester Brunes. David is survived by his sisters Diane (Brunes) Vogt and Denise (Brunes) Santilli. David was a loving Father of Mary Jo (Brunes) Cipolla Nannini, Mike Brunes, John Brunes, and Janette (Brunes) Tabor. Grandfather to Tony, Carly, Zoe, Erin, Mimi, David, Gage, Jackie, and Timothy. He was a great grandfather to Holly, Will and Christina and had many extended family and friends.
David was a long-time retail distribution salesman in Elgin Illinois. David then moved to Galena, Illinois, where he worked as a Community Services Police Officer before his final retirement of 20 years in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. David was an avid historian of the American Civil War as well as WWII. He was also a gun enthusiast where he collected guns and enjoyed many hunting trips. David also educated young adults on gun usage and safety. David was a religious man of the Catholic faith where he was an extraordinary minister for many years.

Funeral Mass will be at Holy name of Jesus Catholic Church in Melbourne Florida on March 11, 2021. Church visitation at 10:30 a.m. with Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. The Mass will be available online via live stream.
