Aunt Barbara meant the world to me.
When I think of her countless acts of kindness, both big and small, they span decades. My entire life, really.
In the 60’s, she comforted me when I fell out of the top bunk, sound asleep, during a sleepover in Bern’s room.
In the 70’s, she iced down broken fingers from diving accidents.
There are so many great memories of 22 Frank Street, a lifetime’s worth … the cookouts, the Thanksgivings, the 4th of July(s)…1976 Bicentennial with red, white, and blue flowers on the driveway. There was nowhere in the world I would have rather been that day, than Aunt Barbara’s and Uncle Jimmy’s.
Her laughter brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.
It was a happy, hearty, genuine laugh. Full of charm and warmth.
One recent cherished memory comes when Aunt Barbara was riding around on the beach in a chair with oversized monster truck tires, yelling “Out of my way” to no one in particular. Laughing and having a ball. She was on top of the world … well-deserved happiness earned from a lifetime of generosity and kindness towards others.
She will always be in our prayers and in our hearts. With Love Eric, Eileen, Allison, & Lindsay
