Obituary of Donna Pauline Ambrose

Donna Pauline Ambrose, AKA: Missy, Granny, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. She was born in Key West, Fl. to the late Murray and Ethel (Cash) Gibson on May 20, 1940. She died in her home in Grant, Fl., surrounded by family and friends after a two year battle with liver cancer.

Donna grew up in Miami, Fl., and graduated from Miami Hialeah High School.  And if you dared to mention her school, be prepared for her to sing her Alma Mater even at 80 yrs old. She was proud of her school.

After graduating high school she obtained her first job at Dade County Clerk of Courts where she worked her way up to Senior Deputy, retiring after 34 years of service. She was well respected and loved by her employees.

Donna gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and attended church faithfully. She loved the Lord with all her heart and taught her children to do the same. Daily reading of her bible, her devotions and praying for her children, family and friends were her first priorities.

Traveling and eating out at restaurants with friends and family were always a must. She entertained or amused us with songs from her childhood that we had never heard of, and sometimes couldn't believe they were real. She made us laugh. Donna never met a stranger, and you had to edge to the door if you wanted to leave a store or restaurant within thirty minutes of paying. She loved everyone.

During her difficult battle with cancer, she never wavered on her faithfulness to the Lord, and his loving care for her. She touched so many lives, always having a positive attitude no matter what she was going through, never failing to thank her caregivers for taking good care of her. Donna was truly a blessing to those she crossed paths with, both before and during this journey.

She was preceded in death by her parents was well as her four siblings. Donna is survived by her son, Larry Ambrose and wife Debra, daughter, Joy Clodfelter and husband Dwight, Grandsons, Tony and Wesley and their wives Jennifer and Tiffany, Granddaughter, Megan Chewning and husband Ben, Tony and Jennifer's son, her Great Grandson, Gabe, and her best friend of 49 years, Gloria Doak.
