Bob and Carol were our neighbors in Cedar MN for many years. While we have several things in common, my favorite and maybe most important memory of Bob and Carol is how they made me feel like family. Carol would call on the spur of the moment to invite me to join them for supper. Bob crafted a beautiful coat tree for me from oak that he cut and milled on their property - I've used it all these years and it brings me happy memories of our times together. I brought them Feeney, when he was just a homeless kitten trying to shelter in a flower pot in the freezing November rain. Carol adopted him despite his being a male. I lived in Stuttgart, Germany, very near Sembach from 1950 to 1956, and though of course, I didn't ever meet Bob, it's fun that we have that overlap. My husband was career military, so we had that in common too. I was so grateful when Bob and Carol made the tough decision to move to Florida where they could be closer to many family members. After a few letters and cards we fell out of touch, but they've always held a very special spot in my heart. My deepest condolences to all of Bob's family, but especially dear Carol. We've all been blessed to have Bob in our lives.
