Obituary of Louis Coutermash
Louis “Sonny” Coutermash slipped away from us on November 22nd 2020.
He lived for his wife and love of 70 years Olivia. After her passing three months previous, he felt it was time to join her.
Lou was born on June 1st 1927 in Norwalk Connecticut to Louis and Beatrice Coutermash.
Joining the Navy on his 17th Birthday, Lou served in the South Pacific during World War II aboard a Minesweeper.
He was a Computer Systems Engineer in the 60’s and 70’s designing and implementing the Moving Stock Market Ticker, the first Airline Computer Reservation System, and NASDAQ the world’s first electronic stock market.
Traveling and Living around the world with his wife Olivia and their son Louis, he was a true Renaissance Man with a love of Art, Literature, and Culture.
Dad loved playing Golf, watching the News, following the Stock Market, building models, painting, and he always had a joke.
Lou is survived by his son Louis and his wife Cheryl, Grandchildren William, Breanna, Jennifer, Dan and Great Grandchildren Jordanna, Otis, and Micki.
We love and miss you dad but now you can continue your journeys with Olivia.
Farewell
Lou will be laid to rest along with Olivia. Burial is private.
