Obituary of Jerome Boyd

Jerome Boyd, passed away on Thursday November 19, 2020, at the age of 82. He worked for the City Of Palm Bay Parks And Recreation were he retired as a Forman.

Jerome is survived by his wife Lila Mae Boyd (ne’e); his children, Michael Boyd, Lerome Nesmith (Herittha), Jessie John (Maxton), Jerome Boyd Jr. (deceased), Barbara Stewart (deceased), Janice Britton (Donnie), Dennis Boyd (Diane), and Vernessa Chappel (Curtis). He is also survived by his siblings; Jackie Boyd (Lois), Truman Boyd (Mary Lou), Bessie McCray (Manny), Ethel Brown (Francis), and Earline Brown, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jerome was born on December 21, 1937 to Hogan and Mary Boyd in Andrews, South Carolina. He married Lila on March 8, 1960. After having their first four kids, they relocated to Palm Bay Florida in 1975, where the last two were born.

Jerome was a loving father who loved to fish, was very mechanically inclined, and was very active as a deacon in his church.

The viewing of the body will be Monday November 23rd at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care in Melbourne Florida from 4-6pm. The funeral service is to be held at the same location on Tuesday November 24th at 1pm. Pastor Kenneth Cody will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Grant Street Cemetery in Melbourne Florida at 3pm.
