Obituary of Hobart William Pace Jr.

On Friday September 11, 2020 Hobart William Pace Jr. whom we lovingly called Hobie, passed away Peacefully at Holmes Regional Medical Center following a brief illness at the age of 62 due to Respiratory Failure cause by COPD and Pneumonia.

Hobie was born on February 2, 1958 in Pontiac, Michigan to Hobart William Pace Sr. and Viola May Cork. He lived in Waterford, Michigan where he became the oldest of seven children. In his late teens to early 20’s his family moved to Melbourne, Florida where he resided for several years. After his Mother’s retirement she sold her home and moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi and he moved there as well with her. He lived there for approximately 20 years.

After the death of his sister Elizabeth, Hobie moved back to Melbourne, Florida in August of 2020 where he lived with his Brother James and wife Vickie. His Brother’s James and Joe were building Him a little place of his own calling it “Hobie”s Place” where he could be close to family but still have his own privacy.

He loved sitting on the porch listening to his radio and drinking Sweet iced tea. He had a glass in his hands most of the time.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Hobart William Pace Sr., Mother Viola May Pace, Sister, Rebekah May Corley, Brother, David Mark Pace, Sister, Elizabeth Ann Powers, Granddaughter Kahlan Alanna Moran, niece, Beth Ann Marshall and Great nephew, Cody Dawson Mixon.  

He is survived by his Beloved Daughter Jaclyn (Neil) Moran, Grandson’s Waylon O’Neil Moran and Dean O’Neil Moran, Brother, James (Vickie) Pace, Brother, Joseph Pace, Sister Martha (Mark) Lyons, 101 year old Aunt Freda Velie, Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There was no Funeral for Hobie who was cremated at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care.

The Family plans a memorial service for him for which a date has not yet been determined.
