Obituary of David Victor Vargesko
David “Dave” Victor Vargesko, 64, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 in Malabar, FL. He was born on February 5, 1956 to Albert and Mary Vargesko in Pittsburgh PA. In 1981 he married Tamara Egers Vargesko of Fort Pierce, FL and together they raised two children.
Dave grew up in Monroeville, PA and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brother and spending time with his two sisters and much-loved mother Mary. He attended Catholic grade school and graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA in 1974. He joined the US Air Force like his father and became crew chief on a KC-135 Stratotanker. After his four years of service he rode his motorcycle cross-country from California to Florida.
Dave was devoted to his family and in 1993 they built a home in Malabar, FL. He worked as a millwright, a mechanic at a natural gas compressor station, an aircraft mechanic and was fortunate to grace the sunny skies of Florida in his own airplane built with the help of good friends. He was passionate about learning and understanding how things work. Dave’s ability to install, build or repair and genuinely help others garnered him respect and admiration of family and friends. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly.
Dave is survived by his wife Tamara, son Jason and daughter Sarah of Malabar, FL; brother Al (Stephanie) Vargesko of Columbia, MO; sisters Clare Vargesko and Valerie (Mark) Dentler of Lakeland, FL. He leaves behind several sisters- and brothers-in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 10:30am.
