I had the pleasure of visiting Jeanne with my therapy dog, Parsley, last year. She enjoyed petting Parsley, but did let me know cats were her preference :) So I usually had to show her pictures of my felines as well. I attended her 100th birthday party, and what a gala! You could tell she was loved by many. Book discussions were a favorite, and I know she missed her milk shakes from Jenn after Covid hit. I am sure as well that she was bombarded with furry friends greeting her at the Rainbow Bridge. RIP, Miss Jeanne. Sheila and Parsley

As a kid, I remember how lively things got around the house when Aunt Jeanne came to visit. She was my Dad’s only sibling and wasn’t afraid to needle him when they found themselves on opposing sides of a conversation. Although I never dared to call Dad a “dodo” like Jeanne frequently did, I enjoyed watching their interactions and saw another side (a fun one) of my Dad. Jeanne and Bob enjoyed a very good brother/sister relationship. As we all got older, the visits eventually stopped and my interactions with Jeanne were limited to the yearly exchange of Christmas cards. Jeanne’s 2011 card included a wisecrack that led to a visit to Indialantic the following March and our relationship was rekindled. Jeanne was 92 years young at the time, and what a time it was! The attached photo was taken at the Shack during that visit. My wife and I visited Jeanne several more times. We enjoyed her quick mind and were surprised that most of our conversations involved present times. Although she didn’t shy away from the past, she didn’t dwell on it either. Jeanne knew what she liked and wasn’t afraid to reach for it. I couldn’t have asked for a better aunt and will miss her greatly. RIP Jeanne – we will meet again on the other side.
