To the family of First Sergeant Gary Beyer. I am so sorry this posting is late but I did not find out about First Sergeant's passing until today when his name was published in Semper Fi Magazine for retired Marines. I served with the First Sergeant in 1975-1977 in 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines at Camp Pendleton, CA. I was the Executive Officer of Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines for 8 months of that period and was fortunate enough to share an office and the administration duties of a rifle company of Marines with First Sergeant Beyer. We had many conversations about the Corps and life in general. I learned so much from him. He talked about writing a book one day and now I found out he finished it. Bravo Zula First Sergeant! I would ask his family to accept my condolences and my deep repsect for First Sergeant Beyer. Fair winds and following seas to you First Sergeant of Marines.
