Annie Agatha Duncan, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
Born Annie Agatha Harris to the late Joseph and Rebecca Harris on March 18, 1925 in Paisley, Jamaica. She attended elementary and secondary school in Jamaica. She married Elisha Duncan in 1946 and moved to Bronx, New York in 1962 to join him.
She received her Nurse’s Aide certification from Fordham University’s Nurses Aide program. She was employed at Kings Harbor Health Related Facilities, Bronx, New York and as a dress maker and machine operator in New York City’s garment district. She moved to Palm Bay, Florida with Elisha in 1994.
Annie was a willing worker for Christ as exemplified by her work as a choir director and organist at Bible Truth Church of God, Bronx, New York. She continued this work with her husband at Community Gospel Truth Church, Melbourne, Florida. She also supervised the church’s pantry.
She leaves behind a legacy of love for her family to cherish her memory including her husband Bishop Elisha Duncan; her children Pearl Duncan, Hyacinth Seabrook, Enid Roberts, Delores Chamblin, Judith Blake, Norman Duncan, Audrey Duncan and Elisha Duncan Jr.; her grandchildren Joseph Seabrook Jr., John Burnett, Andre Chamblin, David Burnett, Desirae Chamblin, Trevor Chamblin, James Duncan, Rachel Blake, Paul Duncan, Matthew Duncan, Jessica Blake, Andrew Duncan, Kayla Duncan, Nicholas Duncan, Norma Duncan and Malia Duncan; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Reginald and Egbert and her sister Evelyn.
Viewing will be on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Community Gospel Truth Church, 795 South Wickham Road, Melbourne, Florida. Entombment will follow the service at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay.
