Obituary of April May-Turberville
April May-Turberville, Certified Nursing Assistant, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Friday, July 31, 2020 in Palm Bay, Florida after a lengthy illness. She was 51 years old.
April, daughter of the late Dawn E. Fouad and Jimmy D. Hill, was born May 17, 1969 in Santa Ana, California. She attended Midway City Elementary School, Maranatha Christian, Warner Junior High School, Bernardo Yorba Junior High, and Westminster High. She moved to Apple Valley, California in 1986, and then to Lucerne Valley, California in 1987. She ran an automotive business, Desert Tire and Auto, in Lucerne Valley, California for many years.
In the late 90’s, she started working at K-Mart in Big Bear, California. She met many life-long friends there, including her husband and love of her life, Allan. She worked about a year at Casa Colina in Lucerne Valley, and then started at Stater Brothers in Big Bear, working there for many years.
In 2017, she moved to Florida and got her CNA license, working as a CNA in the last years of her life. Becoming a CNA was her proudest accomplishment and loved making a difference in the lives of the elderly she worked with. Her passion in life was helping and caring for others. She was always doing favors for people, taking friends places, helping her children and grandchildren, and “adopting” teens and young adults that needed extra motherly love. She dedicated her life to serving others and caring for her family. Her children, grandchildren, and husband were the lights of her life.
April married the love of her life of 15 years on June 20, 2019 on the beaches of Florida. It was one of the happiest days of her life, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
April is survived by her husband, Allan Turberville of Palm Bay, Florida; daughter, Michele May-Rafftery (Christopher) of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; daughter, Rebecca May-Hollenbaugh (Anthony) of Calimesa, California; son, Robert May II of Lancaster, California; brother, Brian Hill of Diamond Springs, California; sister, Shawnee Lopez of Murrieta, California; sister, Alex Hill of Potosi, Missouri; grandchildren, CJ (13), Brian (11), Allie (10), London (6), Emilia (5), and Barrett (1); and 11 nieces and nephews.
