Obituary of Esther Lucille Baker
Esther Lucille Parker Baker, 103, of Rockledge, Florida, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 28, 2016. She was born in a little farmhouse in Pineville, Kentucky on November 27, 1912 to William Parker and Axie Bailey Parker.
Esther was a strong, stubborn Kentucky woman who loved the Lord, and was proud of her family and her heritage. She was a hard-working coal miner+óGé¼Gäós wife who held numerous jobs of her own including factory worker, seamstress, cook, motel manager, and office worker. She was incredible in the kitchen and her fried chicken was second to none. Back in the day she was quite the card shark and also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, ceramics, and watching everything from wrestling to Wheel of Fortune on TV. She especially loved basketball and was an avid University of Kentucky fan. She was the matriarch of her family, a force to be reckoned with, and leaves behind an incredible legacy of love and perseverance.
Esther will be greatly missed by her daughters Lois Youdbulis, Sherry Harris, and Linda (John) Wittersheim; her grandchildren Karen (Tim) Trent, Kim (Jim) Swinehart, Amy (Jeff) Russell, and Jennifer Harris; her great grandchildren Taylor Trent, Trevor Swinehart, and Brooke Russell; her sister Chesney Rhodes; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; her son Kenneth Baker; her sisters Daisy Madon, Louvinia Wolfe, Maude Parker, and Lily Parker; and her son-in-law Al Youdbulis.A celebration of her incredible life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at His Place Ministries Church, 1824 S. Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne. A reception will follow at the church.
