Obituary of Merle J. Landrey
Merle Joseph Landrey Jr., 90, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017.
Merle was born in Beaverville, IL on November 28, 1926 to the late Merle and Leona Landrey. He served in the US Navy as a Ships Cook 3rd Class from 1944 to 1946. He worked as a die maker and custom home builder and was a member of the bookbinder's union in Joliet, IL. He moved to Brevard County, FL from Lockport, IL in 1990. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he was an usher.
His family includes his sons Daniel (Jean) Landrey of Kyle, TX, David (Martha) Landrey of Riverton, UT and William Landrey of Myrtle Beach, SC, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers Armell Landrey of California, Wayne Landrey of Elwood, IL, Richard Landrey of Northport, FL, Roland Landrey and Charles Landrey, both of New Lenox, IL and a sister, Marcella Nielsen of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Ruth Marshall Landrey, brother and sister in law Leonard and Phyllis Landrey and granddaughter Rachel Landrey.
Viewing will be on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am.
