Obituary of Eddy Lamar Stephens
Cocoa, Florida—On Sunday, October 7, 2018, Eddy Lamar Stephens, passed away at age 70.
Lamar was born on March 14, 1948 in Pensacola, Florida to Theo Edward Stephens and Katie Bell (Worley) Stephens.
He was a fuel cell mechanic at Kennedy Space Center and an auto mechanic enthusiast. He had a passion for classic Chevys, Fishing, Auto Racing, Harleys, the Space Program, Friends and Family. He was always willing to help a friend in need, and was known for his kind, gentle, and giving spirit.
Lamar was preceded in death by his father Theo; mother Katie Bell; sister Peggy Ruth; nephew Charlie Swanson; great niece Karma Davis.
He is survived by his children Kamie (Dave) Tucker, Jason (Amy) Stephens, their mother Judy Carroll. He was also survived by four loving grandchildren, Aaron & Adam Tucker, and Wyatt & Carson Stephens; brothers Cecil (Marty) Stephens and Kin (Nancy) Stephens; sister Glenda (Chuck) Swanson; brother in law Bob Ruth; nephews and nieces, Todd (Audrey) Stephens and Troy (Rachel) Stephens, Lacey (Jeff) Wordsell and Tiffany (Matthew) Harper, Doug Stephens, Melinda (Brian) Martin, Linda (Juan) Garza, Brenda (Mark) Smith, Kathy (Curtis) Parsons, and Eddie Ruth; his loving companion and girlfriend, Debbie Woodle.
Lamar will be laid to rest with military honors at 11:00am on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the VFW Post 10131 in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
