Obituary of Mildred “Millie” Evseenko
Melbourne – Mildred “Millie” Karg Evseenko (nee’ Arroyo), 98, passed away on October 17, 2018, peacefully at her home.
The daughter of Rose and Hiram Arroyo, Sr., Millie grew up in Union, NJ where she graduated from Union High School in 1939 and became a “cracker jack” secretary/stenographer.
A former resident of Huntingdon Valley, PA., Millie spent 48 summers by the sea in Sea Isle City, NJ. “I love the ocean!” In 1981, she moved to Hollywood Estates in West Melbourne, FL. She sang and danced the Charleston in the Hollitones, bringing joy to many nursing home residents. Also, Millie enjoyed her membership in the Elks, the Moose, and the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd and she volunteered as an usher at the Henegar Center for the Arts. For the last few years, she lived an independent and active lifestyle. She was a very popular resident at The Fountains in Melbourne. Millie was loved by all!
Millie is survived by her daughter, Karen (William) Karg Cooper-Taylor; stepdaughter Kathryn Evseenko Bangs; stepson, Michael Evseenko; grandsons, Michael (Tracy) Bangs and Stephen (Kelly) Bangs; great grandchildren, Camden, Olivia and Tyler; companion, Walter J. Carroll; niece, Joan (Bill) Connolly; nephews, Richard (Linda) Arroyo and Robert Arroyo.
She was preceded by her first husband, Wesley R. Karg; second husband, Alexander A. Evseenko, Sr.; stepson, Alexander A. Evseenko, Jr.; brothers, Hiram Arroyo, Jr. and Ralph Arroyo.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Scott Worth, will be held from 1 – 2 PM on Tuesday, October 23rd at The Fountains on Stack Blvd. in Melbourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
