Dear Irene, One year ago today God wrapped you in His arms and brought you home. It’s been a tough year without you. I know you and Angel are sitting in your chair watching Sci-Fi right now. I know you both are very happy and we will see you again. Until then, love hugs and kisses from your loving family.

Aunt Irene was a beautiful person. She welcomed me into her heart as if I was her own child. She gave guidance and advice when I needed it the most. She was there for me and she gave me hope and although she barely knew me in the beginning she had faith in me. She was loved by so many and she was so loving back. She was an instrumental person in my life, A part of her wisdom became a part of me and I believe she had a huge impact in my life for who I am today. Not only did she make an impact on my life but she was another grandmother to Anastasia.
When I asked Anastasia what she would like me to write from her to Aunt Irene this is what she said; Aunt Irene I will always miss you and Mommy said you are my angel now but you were always my angel. I will miss having dinner with you, I will miss coloring with you, I will miss playing house with you, I will miss sitting on your lap and playing games on your phone with you, but mostly I will just miss you. I love you very much. Love Anastasia
I know she is at peace and no longer in pain now wherever her soul rests. This poem below is from a Native American Indian and this poem is the essence of Aunt Irene.
I’m not here
Don’t stand by my grave and weep
For I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glint on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn’s rain
When you awaken in mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quite birds in circle flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die.

Aunt Irene was more than just my aunt she was a second mother to me. Most of my greatest memories I have growing up involved spending time with her. She enjoyed having her family around especially on the holidays when loved to cook and gather everyone together. She took care of my brothers and I like we were her kids because thats what she considered us. She did the same with my daughter Anastasia as well. She treated her like she was her granddaughter because she is and always will be. Aunt Irene you have left a mark on us all. We LOVE you more than you could ever imagine and will deeply miss you each and everyday. Love with all our hearts Jimmy and Anastasia.

John you have our deepest sympathy on the passing of Irene. We extend our sympathies to her family as well as yours. We know how much she will be missed by everyone. Irene was a kind, gentle, caring and loving person. She never uttered an unkind word about anyone and she had the smile of an angel. Take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and in a God’s loving care. Love, Uncle Donald & Aunt Theresa

Irene will aways be remembered just as her pictures show her to be. Kind, soft spoken and always ready with a smile. She loved playing everyday with her sister and cousins and they with her. She was so loved that lenny and I cut our honeymoon short just to be home with her. As she grew, she gave her love right back. I will truly miss her but I am grateful for the resurrection hope.
she will not be forgotten.

Irene was an amazing sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She was warm and welcoming when I came into the family and I will be eternally grateful for her spirit. She was always loving to her nieces and caring. She was a loving mother and wife to John and Jennifer and her strength was something I will always remember her for. I know we are all sad that she is gone and she will be forever missed in our family. Heaven has gained an angel and I know she will be watching over all of us.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us. ” (Hellen Keller)
Love to everyone and thoughts and prayers even though we are miles away.
