Obituary of Imogene Carol Turner

Imogene Carol was born in Philadelphia, PA to parents Virginia Johnson and Virgil Scoggins just before spring on March 13th 1944 and baptized April 8th at Calvary Episcopal Church. She spent many days in her youth there at her grandmother’s piano. The true wealth of Imogene’s curiosity, creativity and self sufficiency began here and the environment was ripe for her to explore. A graduate of Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia PA, she went from waitressing to electronics and finally banking; all of which she excelled at, handling anything thrown her way, but always prioritizing her family first. She made clothing from scratch with patterns or without, she learned electronic work and could fix wires or solve any surprises easily. She’d take care of the laundry, balance the bank book and polish her silver. She could do all of these things with a hearty meal on the stove and a cake in the oven, all while dancing and singing along to her favorite songs. To all of us she was a super woman and she wouldn’t hesitate to discipline or teach you a lesson along the way. We’ve all learned from her in so many ways. To say it in one word, Imogene Carol is a blessing. She is survived by her loving partner and husband of 57 years and the family tree they watered; Cleveland Turner Jr and Diane Lorraine Turner their son and daughter; Grand children Natasha Day, Cleveland III., Kesha, Zachary, Zacoreon, Robert and Jeremiah; Great-Grand children Dione Cleveland, Zachariah, Elijah. Family to receive friends at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care 950 Malabar Rd. SE, Palm Bay, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
