Another beloved member of our family gone to be with the lord. I really don’t remember life before her, and it will be hard to continue the journey with out her. She was a rock. I believe She took part in every event for every one of us in the family. She was always around, always helping, always good for a story even if you didn’t understand. She made her connection with people through her love and her light. For that she will always be adored. Forever in our hearts, and fond in our memories. RIP YIA YIA.

YiaYia was my second mother. She raised me in every way a mother would. She fed me, changed me, provided for me, protected me, read stories to me, gave me lessons on life, and always smiled when I entered the door. She was the most stubborn, but also immensely strong woman I’ve ever met. She did not let any pain or discomfort ever get her down. Although, she did love to express it! We all have our quirks! Despite her being in her senior years most of my life I always felt safe around her. She made every house feel like home. I miss her and Pappou fighting over who’s food I should eat and competing over which will make the better meal for the family. I miss her blatant optimism for playing the lotto despite never winning. Unfortunately Snooki, our beloved dog passed away right before Yia-Yia but I believe it’s because they shared a bond too strong and they wanted to enter the heavens together. I will never forget my Grandmother, not her words, her voice, her face, or her spirit. She was one truly amazing woman.

Your Mom was always with us and always will remain in our memories. No matter what was going on in her life, she shared our lives together. There was not a holiday, birthday, or baptism or celebration that she was not there, always with a smile. We had many conversations, I just wish I learned to speak more Greek because I was never sure what we were talking about. Never doubt, I loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed.
