Obituary of Michael J. Macherone

Michael J. Macherone, 81, of Palm Bay, Florida, died on May 18, 2017. He was born in Schenectady, New York on March 29, 1936. Michael served in the Schenectady community area as a firefighter for many years and looked back on those years with great fondness. He and his family have resided in Florida for 40 years, where he loved watching his children and grandchildren flourish. He was continuously involved in all of their activities, where there was no greater pleasure than when he attended their sports, music and dance events. Michael was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family more than they will ever know. Those who knew Mike knew of his generosity and kindness to help anyone in need. Family was extremely important to Mike, who often made sacrifices to help not only his immediate family but also his extended family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include daughters Debbie (Martin) McClinton, Donna (Truman) Russo, Maggie (George) Trahan, grandchildren Jillana, Jamey, Vance, Trevor, Kyle, Victoria, Nicholas, Laura and Zoe who loved their Poppy with all their hearts. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Macherone) Kislowski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith A. Macherone, parents, Michael and Rita Macherone, and his two brothers, Charles and Donald Macherone. A funeral mass will be on Friday, June 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock St. NE, Palm Bay, FL, 32905.
