Obituary of Scott MacKenzie Meyers

Scott MacKenzie Meyers, a respiratory therapist at Holmes Regional Medical Center, and a resident of Palm Bay, FL died unexpectedly on June 9, 2018 at the age of 48. He was born in Oneida, NY on April 23, 1970 to Michael and Vicki (Beers) Meyers. He graduated in 1987 from Oneida High School and then entered the Air Force and served for 4 years as an aircraft mechanic. In 2000, he graduated from Mohawk Valley with a degree in respiratory therapy. In 2001, he married Stephanie (Fifield) Meyers in Cicero, NY. Scott had a great love for music that started when he played the trumpet as a child. He then taught himself how to play the guitar and keyboard. When it came to classic rock, he could tell you the song, the artist, the album and the year. Scott loved his profession as a respiratory therapist. He was well respected by his peers and he loved to work in the ICU and Trauma Units. He was committed to educating his patients and loved to take the time that was needed to help and comfort them. Scott is survived by Stephanie and their 11 year old twin sons Joshua and Brandon Meyers; mother Vicki; brother Tom (Brandy) Meyers; sister Kristen (Matthew) Page; paternal grandmother Dorothy (Buell) Meyers and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Michael Russell Meyers in 2015. Calling hours will be Monday, June 18th form 4-6 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. at Centerpointe Church, 891 Copley St. SE, Palm Bay.
