Obituary of Nancy Marie Szkolnik
On April 11, 2019 at 1:05 a.m., Nancy Marie Szkolnik, age 82, heard Jesus calling her to join Him in Heaven. She willingly and peacefully departed this life to follow Him and be reunited with her daughter Jennifer, grandson Brian and all her faithful departed loved ones.
Nancy was born on May 19, 1936, the fifth of seven children to William and Helen Schatzinger Murray, in Ecorse, Michigan. She grew up in Delphos, Ohio, lived in Van Wert, Ohio and Ft. Wayne, Indiana before moving to Brevard County, Florida where she has resided since 1968. Prior to moving to Florida, she worked at Wolf & Dessauer Department Store and General Electric in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Once settled in Florida, she became a very successful Tupperware dealer in Brevard County for many years. She retired from her work as an Automobile Title Clerk in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 70.
Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was a very conscientious and hardworking woman throughout her life and at the same time she enjoyed living life to the fullest. She was a gifted piano player, an avid bowler, a lover of card games, and excelled at planning, preparing and hosting the most wonderful parties and reunions.
Nancy is survived by her three daughters Terry (Dick) Bramel, Cindy (Joel) Smith, Sue (Jeff) Hedgepeth; one son-in-law Bill Minton; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, all living within a couple hours distance from her. She also leaves her sisters Margie Murray Herbig, Wilma Murray McNiel Pike and Karen Murray (Dick) Cooper; her brother Bill Murray and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Minton, her grandson Brian Carraro Minton, her parents William and Helen Murray, brother John Murray and sister Pat Murray Burnett.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, located at 300 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, with a reception immediately following at the church.
