Obituary of Martha F. Levine

Martha F. Levine (nee Murphy), 92, of Melbourne passed away peacefully on May 7, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Levine, cherished mother of Lisbeth Levine (Scott Saef) of Chicago and the late Jack Levine, dear sister of Helen Smithyman of Pittsburgh and the late James Murphy, and proud grandmother of Rachel and Jared Saef of Chicago. She was the adored aunt of Dennis Smithyman (Rosemary) of Kennebunk, Maine, nieces Joann Godbout (Michael) of Lombard, IL, and Lisa Murphy of Carolina Shor, NC, plus a nephew and two other nieces. A native of Pittsburgh, she lived in Maryland, New York and New Jersey before relocating to Melbourne in 2003. Her list of talents and interests was long: Outstanding cook and baker, tireless gardener, expert sewer, speed typist (110 words per minute) and lover of games — especially mah jongg. She solved the NYT crossword puzzle daily and read avidly. She loved her family, the beach and shuttle launches. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 12, at 11 a.m. at Florida Memorial Gardens.
