Anthony Contic, Jr.
Anthony “Tony” Contic, Jr., age 86, passed away at home on October 18, 2018 after battling cancer. He was born October 9, 1932 in Greensburg, PA to the late Anthony Contic, Sr. and Florence Maxwell Contic. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth Contic, his brother Denny Contic, six children Tony, Frankie, Barbara, Richard, Gail, Bobby, and Patty, fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and Ruth’s four children Anne, Peggy, Andy and Marion, nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. His sister Florence Ann Frund, brother Barry Caruso, and daughter Rosie Kolinsky are deceased.
Tony grew up in the hospitality industry helping his dad in the family restaurant business. He continued to work in the hospitality industry as a bartender and manager at various hotels, restaurants and country clubs in the Washington, DC area. He was most proud of his time as the Manager of the Montgomery County Police Alumni Association running the club, organizing their social activities and fundraising. In recognition of his hardwork and dedication, Tony was made an Honorary Member of the MCP Alumni Association.
Tony and his wife moved to a retirement community in Melbourne, FL in 2006 to fulfill their dream of living in warm weather without the ice and snow. He played golf, attended social functions, and enjoyed the company of many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 11, 2018 @ 2 PM in the Lakewood Village Clubhouse, Melbourne, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd, Melbourne, FL.
