Obituary of David William Wirth
AWGÇô1 David W Wirth Sr was greeted by his Savior Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 4:35 AM after enduring a 21 year valiant battle against Crohn’s disease.
David was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. he then joined the United States Navy where he served his fellow man and country for 16 1/2 years. In 1993, he was medically discharged to continue his battle against Crohn’s disease. He was an Instructor and Leading Petty Officer at the Reserve ASW Training Center NAS in Willow Grove, PA. He served on the NATOPS and P-3C transition team. When he was actively flying, Dave occupied the station as a Sensor III P-3C. He also traveled as a member of the Navy golf team.
As a young man, David was senior demolay. He remains in good standing with the Masonic Linden Lodge # 637F+AM. He is also a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Dave enjoyed time fishing and golfing, but more than anything else he loved people and his great sense of humor consistently touched so many lives. Dave was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan, and was very passionate every time he watched them play.
Although Crohn’s disease defeated his physical being, his spiritual battle was won long ago through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, there is no death for him, but only a transition to a new life in which his family now joins in celebration with him. There will be a viewing from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday October 26, 2014 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care – Melbourne.
