Obituary of Bill Denton
Lance William Denton, Jr. A.K.A Bill Denton died peacefully at home on July, 23rd in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 73.
Bill is survived by his other half Sherry, two daughters Laurie (Alan) and Carrie (Steve), five grandchildren Josh (Rocky), Emily, Austin, Dylan, and Shiloh. He is also survived by four brothers Edward (Marsha), Pat (Judy), Robert, and Joe (Michelle) as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, and cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill was born on October 28, 1944 in Albany, Georgia to Lance and Fannie Denton. As a child he enjoyed the time he got to spend on his Granddaddy’s farm in Willacoochee, Georgia. He served in the Air Force and then graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Bill enjoyed a long 30-year career as an Air Traffic Controller.
He was an outstanding golfer and racquetball player. Unfortunately, Bill was also a New England Patriots and Yankees fan. For some reason he idolized Tom Brady’s football skills and enjoyed trash talking sports with anyone that would bite. He had a strange sense of humor frequently changing comic strips to pertain to everyone’s life. Bill was always “Analyzing the Situation” and it came out in humor in his comic strips.
He was always there for his daughters and grandchildren and they will greatly miss their Dad and Granddad.
A memorial service is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 1001 Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL 32901.
