Obituary of Fermin Nieves Torres

Fermin Nieves Torres, 78, died Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at home. Fermin was preceded in death by his father, Maximino Nieves, his mother, Generosa Torres, and his brother, Lorenzo Nieves.  He leaves behind his first love, Jacqueline Torres; his sister, Teresita; his son, Tony Nieves (Sherrie); his daughters, Pamela Torres-Spivey (Timothy) and Leigh Whipkey; five grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many close friends. Born in the mountains of Puerto Rico, Fermin moved to Florida in his early twenties.  He worked for the City of Melbourne for 35 years before retiring.  Fermin enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with his friends.  He loved working in his backyard and taking care of his kitties. No formal service will be held before cremation.  The family asks for prayers and well wishes.
