Obituary of Shirley Ann Grundhoffer Wieland

Shirley Ann Grundhoffer Wieland, 75, died at home on Saturday, January 4, 2014, her family with her. She was born in New Prague, MN on May 20, 1938 to Thomas and Anastasia Smith Michaels. A loving wife, mother and grandma, her family includes her three children Michael (Jenice) Grundhoffer, Shelly Grundhoffer and Dawn (Bobby) Johnson; grandchildren Emily (Erik) Tessa, Holt, Michael, and Matthew; brother Tom (Janice ) Michaels; sisters: Delyla (Joe) Sladek and Connie (Kenny) Weber; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Keith Michaels and her late husband Joseph Grundhoffer. Even as Shirley fought cancer, she continued to live life fully. She was blessed to see three of her grandchildren graduate high school and enter college, one graduate college and become a nurse, and attend her first grandchild’s wedding! She was a proud mother and grandmother and was a tremendous example of beauty, strength and courage. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. After 50 years as beautician, she retired and spent time reading, playing cards, going to the movies, and cooking. You could always find Shirley with a cook book in hand searching for the next recipe to try! Shirley also loved to plan events at her condominium and was part of the social committee there. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Arrangements entrusted to Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Melbourne, FL.
