Obituary of Gerald Nevitt

It is with great sadness we announce that Gerald Nevitt, 86, of Silver Spring, MD passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family and beloved friends in Palm Bay, Florida. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Louis and Rose Nevitsky both of whom preceded him in death. Growing up in Coney Island, he went to trade school to become a court reporter – a profession in which he had a successful career working in the US Federal Courts and opening up his own court reporting business. Gerry was an avid chef, music and theater lover, enjoyed hiking along the Potomac River and C&O canal trails, and daily recreational swimmer at multiple local pool facilities. Gerry touched many lives – helping out everyone he knew. Over the years, he opened his home to many people and volunteered his time at many different nonprofit organizations. His kind smile and loving heart will be missed by those he left behind, his loving wife, Felisa (Liza) Nevitt; a daughter, Jaclyn Nevitt; and three sons, Jeremy, Jonathan and Gary Nevitt; and cherished close friends. Gerry was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and will fondly be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend. You may have departed from this Earth but you will always be in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 6:00 pm. at the family home in Palm Bay, FL and at a later date in back in Maryland (to be announced).
