He worked as a culinary chef and pursued an architectural degree before working in his lifetime career of commercial & residential construction as a Project Manager. John built several homes and businesses, including the Armani store in New York City, and later in his career built hundreds of cell-towers in the North-East. He was an avid jazz lover and Yankees fan, and had many hobbies including gardening, mini-golf, and building furniture. Despite designing and building his dream home in NY, John retired to Florida in 2014 for his wife’s desire to be near family. His wife passed away in 2015 from cancer and shortly afterwards John was diagnosed with cancer as well. John and Lynne’s son, Brendan, pre-deceased them in 2009 at the age of twenty-four. Throughout his life, John kept a positive, hopeful spirit, and even in his last days never complained. When asked how he was doing, he would respond with “fantastic” to every nurse. He was known for his quick, intelligent wit and strong faith in the Lord. Those left to mourn his passing are his three children; daughter, Kimberly Ryan, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Ryan, and daughter, Emily Ryan; three grandsons, Timothy, Jonathan and David Ryan; granddaughter, Rebekah Ryan; brother and sister-in-law, James “Jimmy” and Dot Ryan; brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Bernie Ryan; sister, Kerinne Ryan; sister/brother-in-law, Debbie and Steve Cardamone; brother-in-law, Sam Zurich; brother/sister-in-law, David and Wanda Lawton; brother-in-law, Larry Lawton; and mother-in-law, Irene Lawton.
