Obituary of Patricia Ziebold

Mrs. Pat Ziebold, 87, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 29, 2018, passing away at her ancestral home in Sharpes, Florida surrounded by family. Pat was born on May 4, 1931 in Fremont, Ohio, where she graduated from Fremont St. Joe’s High School in 1949. Pat and her late husband, Duke Ziebold, (predeceased March 1, 1981) raised their family of six children in Genoa, Ohio, where Pat stayed busy with local civic and Our Lady of Lourdes Church affairs and supporting her children’s high school, Cardinal Stritch in Oregon. Pat enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, acting in the Genoa Civic Theater’s plays and reading. She was also a great cook who made special occasions extraordinary –as any of her six children will tell you. Following the passing of her husband, Duke, Pat moved to her family’s homestead in Sharpes, Florida in 1986 to take care of her aging mother. She continued playing bridge in Florida where many lasting friendships were made. Pat is survived by her children: Susan (Stan) Harris, Lynn (Neal) Oury, Louie (Mary Lee) Ziebold, Beth (David) Cayia, Carol (Rocky) Gaal and Joe (Jennifer) Ziebold. Her grandchildren include: Seth and Julie Harris, Nick and Catherine Oury, Louie Paul, Sarah and Lauren Ziebold, Faith Cayia, Alex, Anna and Joey Gaal and Owen Ziebold. Her three great grandchildren are Eliza Bea Yorty and Landon and Avery Ryan. All are thankful for their great memories of summer vacations spent at Grandma’s house. Pat also leaves behind her cherished long-time neighbors Flossie Staton, Jim Dillman and many other friends along Indian River Drive. A memorial mass will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cocoa, Florida, on Thursday, August 2nd at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice and Palliative Care.
