George was born in Washington, DC. He graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War, a carpenter, a mail carrier, and a volunteer fire fighter. He was a U. S. Park Police Officer living in the DC area until 1975 when he moved to Brunswick, GA to teach at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. He retired as a Lieutenant from the U.S. Park Police in 1984 and moved to Merritt Island, FL. He stayed busy working on the house that he built or piddling in his garage or yard. George had an avid sense of humor, and could always be counted on to tell jokes when getting together with family and friends. He and Marion enjoyed taking cruises and travelling to every state in the U. S., mostly by car. His hobbies included baseball, carpentry, racquetball, softball, and tennis, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family, and enjoyed being Pop-Pop to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5 at Grace United Methodist Church, 65 Needle Boulevard, Merritt Island, followed by an informal gathering of family and friends in the Fellowship Hall.
