I am so saddened by the news of Mark’s passing. He was a dependable friend, a rational thinker and person upon whom one could rely for support in stressful times. I always enjoyed his humor and joyful demeanor. Mark, you will be missed.

I only worked with Mark a little when I first began doing ALPA work, but he was so fun, and funny! I came in as a pilot from the “radical” Dallas base, and Mark always had time to help me learn the ropes. My husband, Mike, and I really miss him.

We’ll miss Mark’s infectious, enthusiastic personalty. He always had the ability to brighten the day. I had the pleasure of doing ALPA work with Mark for many years; he served his union and pilots proudly. He’ll be sorely missed.

Mark was more than a good friend – he was my right arm. The years we spent together as ALPA reps were the best of times for me. I don’t believe I’ve ever worked with or flown with a better man. He spent years serving others. He was honest, faithful, loyal, and always responsive to those that had a problem. He always considered the least powerful as the most important in his representation work in ALPA. Yet, he was his own man and stood firm on his principals.
He had a quick sense of humor and a great laugh. I’ve seen him laugh until he cried, and I’ve seen him cry when he felt other’s pain.
He didn’t share his plight when we last spoke and promised – at my urging – to call me when he was next in NYC so I could buy him a steak and we could brag about our grandkids to each other.
He said he would. So, I know we’ll meet again. Mark never broke a promise.
