Obituary of Jean M. Nichols

Jean Nichols, of Palm Bay, born May 1, 1925, left this life peacefully on June 26, 2018 at 93 years of age. She is survived by her sister Mable Fern Keifer (Milt), her son, Garry Rosenberger (Barb), her daughter, Diane Hartman, three grandchildren, Saundra Hartman Pasmore, Shawn Rosenberger, and Jay Rosenberger (Kaylee), six great- grandchildren, Alexandra Breadheft Propst (Mason), Chloe Rosenberger, Eve Rosenberger, John Pasmore, Camdyn Rosenberger, Case Rosenberger and one great-great-grandchild, Noelle Propst.
Jean lived for family and considered her family her greatest treasure. She loved and was loved, always putting family needs before her own. She loved receiving cards on special occasions and always took extra time to pick out the card that had something special to say for family members. She took special care to always have a camera at special events and loved her pictures. She never really embraced digital and always preferred the photo that she could place in an album or frame.
She moved to Palm Bay in 1986 after retiring from Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked on the maternity ward and looked forward to her days with the babies. After moving to Palm Bay she volunteered at the Holmes Regional Medical Center for ten years, She loved holiday “ get togethers”, particularly New Years and enjoyed playing cards with friends at the Palm Bay Senior Center.
She will be missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1422 Miller St., Palm Bay, Florida.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The William Childs Hospice House c/o the Health First Foundation. Special thanks to Dr. Ruiz, her hospice nurse, Zee , and the nurses and staff of Health First Hospice and Hospice House for their loving care as mom completed her life’s journey.
