Go Rest High Dear, Sweet, Matt. I knew you were something special the day I met you 31 years ago. We may have spent many of those years not keeping in touch, but we were put back into each other’s lives for a reason, and for that, I will forever be grateful. You’ve always had a piece of my heart that will forever rest with you now, where you can finally be in peace.

I don’t even know where to start, it hurts so bad and it’s so confusing… It brings tears to my eyes seeing so many people’s stories and how much he helped others. I didn’t say it enough but I loved him like a father, he was in my life for about 26 years. I didn’t show him enough that I cared but I know he knew. He is, always and forever, my second father and I’ll miss him dearly. He gave my mother happiness and my brother life. Anytime I needed him, no matter what hour it was, he was there. No one could ever replace him and I’m happy he could give others life when he could no longer make it. I wish he would’ve called, I wish he would’ve asked, I wish I could’ve been there for him like he was for me, but he was a giver, not a taker. I’ll never forget Jennifer’s wedding, that was my best memory of him and I, we had such a connection that weekend. We fought, we cried, we laughed, and we loved each other. I’ll never forget.

This is so hard to write! Matt was so loved by me and his family. He gave so much with his love and heart. He has been missed long before this. So many of us tried to help him. We had so many good times. We cried together and we worked together. Matt helped me in so many projects, one of them is the dock at our home and we had a blast doing it. We had great times at the lake house. There were so many times we all tried to help Matt but he would give so much but he would not take anything in return. His son Jake was so loved by him and now it is up to him to show Matt the man he will become. I will always miss you Matt. Rest in peace my brother love you.

My heart is broken and confused.
I loved Matt since the first day I met him when he was just 25 years old. Since then we were best friends soul mates, partners. Unfortunately, Matt fought a demon he could not overcome no matter how many of us tried to help him.
I will always remember the good times we shared and there were a lifetime of them lol. His laughter and goofiness lives on through his son who is just like him. Lol
He gave me and Jake and Ashley the best years of his life and we are grateful for that.
Please love each other, forgive each other and never take each other for granted.
