I knew Rob in the 70’s and since. I just found out almost 7 months later that he passed. We last spoke for a few hours about three years ago. I drove him to his patent attorney’s office in Winter Park to pick up copies. His ideas were infinite. The world lost a very special and kind man who oversaw a lot. We were close friends for many years.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Rob sounded like an amazing person. Please take comfort in knowing that our heavenly father sees your pain and all the suffering we experience. But this won’t go on forever. Revelation 21:4 assures us that “he will wipe out every tear… and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore…” In the very near future pain, suffering, and even death will be a thing of the past. God also promises us that we’ll see our dead loved ones again. (John 5:28,29) I truly hope you find some comfort in this at this difficult time.

Rob was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed working with him over the past few years, we shared so many good times. There’s a saying that “knowing is not doing”, Rob was a doer! His life and work reflected that in so many ways, whether through his inventions or the dear friendships that he’s developed over the years. Rob will be surely missed as a scientist and engineer, but most of all as a friend and wonderful human being.

I met Rob in Fort Lauderdale many years ago,and hung out in his lab in Hollywood making holograms and playing with lasers with him.
He taught me so many things about lasers, the universe,he also worked on one of my 3D shows called Manifolds of Actuality in Fort Lauderdale with his lasers….
I shall truly miss his laughter, his knowledge, and his love for life and bringing something positive to the world with his ingenious inventions.
He and I understood each other and together we understood the very make up of reality in a manner I was privileged to be a part of both witnessing and participating in understanding.
Think not of the loss, but of the future he created that will forge mankind ahead, for he was truly among the stars before so many others.
Thank you Rob,I shall see you again in the Manifold one day;Joe Raymond…

LASEROB was an incredible man. He had a beautiful mind, heart and soul. His smile was as big as his heart, and filled with just as much kindness. He will be greatly missed. My husband Rick and I are so happy we were able to share in some part of his incredible life. To the entire Elkins family you are in our prayers.
