Obituary of Richard Dellorusso
At approximately 7:15 a.m., Friday May 3, 2019, Richard Dellorusso passed away after a long and hard battle with cancer.
He was at great conversationalist, generous, and made a difference in the lives of many.
Richard Dellorusso was born on May 29, 1955 in Winthrop Massachusetts. He graduated from UCF in 1977. He successfully accelerated through various positions at Walt Disney World with his final position as HR over the Village section (currently known as Downtown). Although he left the company in a higher capacity, his favorite position during his time there was Train Engineer. He especially enjoyed driving the train backwards when the station closed for the night. He then moved on to own two successful businesses that he eventually sold to the employees when he semi-retired. He then took on the role as VP at a local medical billing company. Rick then retired permanently from regular work life and successfully traded stocks.
Rick also selflessly provided full time care to his mother, Sue, up until the last couple of days with us.
He was preceded in death by his Father Ralph Dellorusso. He is survived by his mother, Susan Dellorusso, sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Bohn Williams of Orlando, his two nieces and great nephew.
Rick was a living example of how we should treat one another. Scripture tells us we are to love one another and be devoted to each other as members of the same family. We should consider each other over our own interests and give precedence and honor to our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Rick had an immeasurable impact on the lives of many. “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17 ).
Praying for all who are heavy hearted after the loss of Rick. Thank you for loving him and being a part of his life. Thank you to all who took turns walking his dog and checking in on him and his mother.
His Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL.
“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.” (Romans 12:10)
