Obituary of James Richard Brinson
James Richard Brinson, 55, Died Monday, December 15, 2014 in a fatal truck accident in Kenansville, FL in Southern Osceola County on US HWY 441 at 5:44 am. He was born in Vero Beach, FL on April 7, 1959. He was raised and lived at the Family Homestead in Grant-Valkaria, FL. He graduated from Melbourne High School in 1977.
He was an over the road truck driver and small business owner. While on the road he had the opportunity to see many parts of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. For the last three years, he had been driving for Florida Mulch of St. Cloud, where coworkers expressed he will be greatly missed and he was like family to them. He was a retired local family owned small business owner, Brinson Land Clearing, where he impacted many lives, touching them with his testimony and hardships from his first accident in October of 1987.
As a loving and devoted believer in Christ, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grant-Valkaria since March of 1987. For many years he served in different leadership roles of the church, building and grounds committee, trustee, Sunday school teacher and director, bible study leader, usher, and nominating committee. In his younger years, he volunteered at the Grant Seafood Festival events, and was an Auxiliary Booster member for Grant Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William Lloyd and Elsie Brinson. A loyal and devoted family man, his family includes his brother, William GÇ£BillGÇ¥ Brinson, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Citra, FL.; sisters, Wanda Faye and Brenda Gail Brinson of Grant-Valkaria; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Sharifa, Sharon, Christine, Allen and Daniel GÇ£DannyGÇ¥ and all their families; his aunts and uncles, Mack and Katherine Lynn of Cobbtown, GA, Sherry and Doyle Moody of Glennville, GA, Mary Martin of Lyons, GA, Bobby Lynn of Clewiston, FL., Sara and Paul Godbee of Jacksonville, FL, Carol Brinson of Claxton, GA, and Ruth Dewerth of New Jersey. He is also survived by special friends whom he thought very highly of, Mike Gallagher, Bill Combs, Ed Schmidt, Buddy Lee, Bob Jones, Trish Thornton, Don Salee, Gigi Settergren and her children, Britney Barker and son, Braden, Courtney Prather, Katlyn Barker, and her father, and her childrenGÇÖs grandfather, Gary Settergren.
His family and relatives, church family, community friends, friends of the family, and neighbors will sincerely miss him, along with his love and kindness.
