Dear Mc Keny family
I am very sad to hear that your beloved Vicki, daugher & mother has passed away. I had the great pleasure to meet Vicki at Kenmore High in our senior year in 85 / 86. I was the exchange student from Switzerland. I met her as a cheerful, positive, open minded and open hearted person. She was a very special person and contributed a lot that i kept the year at Kenmore High in good memories ! Together, we were sitting in french class. And then, sometime, we sneaked in the back room to play games on one of the first Apple // computers. I met her as a great person, open to new cultures, music and all that was not “mainstream”. We tried to stay in touch in the analog days by sending letters and music from Switzerland to Akron and back and forth. And then, as life goes on, we lost a bit contact. But thanks to Facebook, we could take the contact up and keep in touch again. I was happy to see how proud she was of her beloved children. How we came in the role of our parents.
And just by coincidence, i took out our yearbook from 86 last week and read through what she wrote me.
I know for sure that she is the same cheerful and positive person in heaven.

What a beautiful picture of you and your boys. Vicki, my memories of the time we were the closest, inseparable really for many years going into our teens are and will be treasured forever. I love that you reached out to me when I finally joined FB and we were able to catch up and reminisce. Vicki was an important character in a very colorful chapter of my life. I always looked forward to the day we could reunite and laugh about the old days while marveling at life’s many twists and turns. Alas, fate had other plans.

Throughout our school years you could always find Vicki among a group of people laughing and of course talking! I don’t think she ever met a stranger. My deepest sympathies to Tyler, Patrick, Sean, Alyce and Dale. Vickie was loved so much by her family. We McKenys are a close and loving Clan. We’ve been blessed to be a part of this family and Vickie was a blessing to us all. Although the years and miles were many between us Vickie was always in our hearts. That smile is impossible to forget. Her love and devotion to her boys is evident in the successes they’ve achieved. She was so proud of them. She loved her family so much and showed it often. My heart is shattered. Vicki was my best friend for 36 years. She was the most incredible person I have ever known. The memories we shared will be forever in my heart and soul.
